About
Also known as: Gezzy, Gezzy The Mask, Gédéon Mundele Ngolo Nzinga Nzala, Mr Franglish, Mr. Franglish, Mr.Franglish, MrFranglish
Franglish, born Gédéon Mundele Ngolo, picked up the name Mr. Franglish from his Brownie Dubz Gang crew because of the way he blended French and American styles in his freestyles, and that mix has defined his sound ever since. The Paris rapper works across contemporary R&B, hip hop and what the French scene calls pop urbaine, delivering a style that sits comfortably between French rap and the kind of smooth R&B you'd hear out of the States. He built his reputation through a run of mixtapes starting with Franglish Prototype in 2013, then Changement d'ambiance and Signature, both in 2017. His album Monsieur broke into the top 20 of the French Albums chart in 2019, and his collab with Tory Lanez on "My Salsa" remains his biggest single to date. More recently he has kept dropping visuals, with "Trop Parler" in 2023 and "Position" landing in early 2024.
