Frenzal Rhomb have been flying the flag for Sydney punk since 1992, and while mainstream radio might have slept on them, the ARIA Charts told a different story. Four of their albums cracked the top 20, with Hi Vis High Tea peaking at number nine. Their sound sits firmly in punk rock and skate punk territory, with touches of melodic hardcore and ska punk thrown in, and their catalogue runs deep across releases like Meet the Family, which earned them their first gold certification, and A Man's Not a Camel, which spawned their biggest charting single. Frontman Jason Whalley is the one constant in a lineup that has shifted plenty over the years, with guitarist Lindsay McDougall, drummer Gordy Forman and bassist Michael Dallinger rounding out the current crew. Frenzal Rhomb have toured extensively across the US, UK, Canada, Japan, South Africa and Taiwan, and have shared stages with the likes of NOFX, Bad Religion, The Offspring and Blink 182. Fat Mike of NOFX liked them enough to sign them to Fat Wreck Chords, which says plenty about where they sit in the global punk conversation.
