Future has spent years reshaping what rap can sound like, making mumbled, Auto Tuned melodies over trap beats feel as natural as breathing. The Atlanta rapper, born Nayvadius DeMun Cash, got his start as part of the Dungeon Family collective before Rocko signed him to A1 Recordings, which quickly linked up with Epic Records. His first two albums, Pluto and Honest, set the tone, producing platinum singles like "Turn On the Lights" and the Kanye West collaboration "I Won". From there, nearly everything he touched debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. His run of chart dominance is genuinely hard to match. In 2017 he became the first artist to drop two consecutive number one albums in back to back weeks, and "Mask Off" gave him his first top ten Hot 100 hit. "Life Is Good" with Drake went diamond, "Wait for U" became his first number one as a lead artist, and it won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance. His 2024 collaborative albums with Metro Boomin, including the Kendrick Lamar featured "Like That", kept the streak alive, and Mixtape Pluto made him the first hip hop artist to land three number one albums in a single year.
