About
Garry Sandhu is the kind of artist whose hustle makes the music hit harder. The Indian singer, songwriter, rapper and actor built his career in Punjabi music after a stint in the UK working construction in Birmingham, and that grounded, real world energy shows up in his sound. His 2010 debut track 'Main Ni Peenda' got him started, and he went on to score major hits like 'Illegal Weapon', 'Yeah Baby' and 'Excuses', with Business Today noting that 'Illegal Weapon' ranked among the top YouTube music videos in India. His reach stretches well beyond the Punjabi pop scene. 'Yeah Baby' got reworked into 'Hauli Hauli' for the Bollywood film De De Pyaar De in 2019, introducing him to an even wider audience. He also runs his own record label, Fresh Media Records, keeping creative control firmly in his own hands. His acting side showed up in the 2014 film Romeo Ranjha, and he has picked up multiple nominations at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards along the way.
