About

Also known as: KO&KO, Ko & Ko

Gebroeders Ko are a Dutch party duo made up of brothers Ton and Gerard Koopmans, and they have a knack for turning European novelty hits into massive crowd pleasers. They broke through in 2002 and really hit their stride with a Dutch language spoof of Basshunter's "Boten Anna", which climbed to number six in the Dutch Top 40 and became a big hit in Belgium too. Their reach extended into Germany as well, where Mickie Krause recorded German versions of their songs under the name Ko and Ko, turning them into hits across all German speaking countries. Their catalog is full of cheeky pop fun, from "Duiken in de zee", built on the melody of the classic Italian song Funiculì Funiculà, to "Vuvuzela", their tribute to the instrument that defined the 2010 FIFA World Cup. At their peak in 2007, they were performing live on stage around 300 times a year, which says plenty about how much Dutch audiences love what they do.
