About
GerdaLentenHavertong, who many Dutch people will know simply as Gerda from Sesamstraat, has built a career that stretches well beyond the iconic children's show. She appeared on the programme first as Gerda and later as peettante Peetje, giving generations of young viewers a sense of belonging. As an actress she has continued working across a range of formats, and she now goes by the name GerdaLentenHavertong. Her warm voice is probably her most recognisable quality, carrying a natural sense of comfort that she brings to everything she does. Alongside her acting work she engages with themes like loneliness, purpose and the search for a fulfilling life, and she has appeared at events pairing her reflections with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by the Nederlandse Bachvereniging.
