About
Gerli Padar carried Estonia's flag at Eurovision 2007 with "Partners in Crime", a run that ended in the semifinal with 33 points and a shared 22nd place. It wasn't her first try at the contest either. She had already gone through the Estonian preselection in 1999 and 2002, and she came back to Eesti Laul in 2018 with Eliis Pärna and the song "Taevas", performed in English as "Sky" in the semifinal. Years earlier she'd had a taste of the jury side too, as one of Estonia's five jurors at the 2010 contest. Outside the Eurovision circuit, Padar built a serious reputation on the musical theatre stage. She has led hit Estonian productions as Sally in Cabaret and Florence in Chess, and played Lotte in stage versions of the children's animated series of the same name. Her first solo album arrived in 2007. She has also done television, including co hosting the educational show Õpiõu! in 2006, and finished as runner up on the first Estonian season of Dancing with the Stars.
