Gezamenlijk Douchen traffic in a sound that roams freely between midwest emo, post hardcore and dreampop, moving from full band emotional anthems to something much closer and quieter, almost like chamber music. The Amsterdam duo of Max Oppenheim and Mannes Kocken have been making music together for well over a decade, a friendship that feeds directly into what they create. Their debut album Korfball. draws on personal experience, exploring themes of growing up, longing and letting go. The record carries a sense of shared history and a fondness for the melodramatic and the lethargic in equal measure, which gives it a texture that is hard to pin down to a single genre.
