Ghaliaa Chaker, who records as Ghaliaa, is a Syrian singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist based in the UAE. She writes in multiple languages, blending R&B, pop and Arabic influences into a sound that feels genuinely cross cultural. Her debut track "Why?" landed in Apple Music's Top 10 Releases of 2018, and she followed it up that same year with "Praying/Je Prie", a bilingual English and French meditation on forgiveness, and the Arabic power ballad "Shou Bidak". The music video for "Praying" was filmed on Jebel Hafeet, which gives you a sense of how cinematic her approach can be. She has two albums to her name, Amygdala and Kel Yli 9ar, and a catalogue of more than thirty songs. Tracks like "Nas", "Cause You Trouble" and "Go Away" showcase her range. In 2023 she was one of 25 MENA artists who came together on "Rajieen", a collaborative single raising funds in response to the Gaza war.
