About
Also known as: Gregor Saloto
Haarlem native Gregor Salto has spent well over a decade carving out a distinct corner of the Dutch house scene, blending tribal and latin house rhythms with the kind of dancefloor muscle that plays just as well in Miami as in Amsterdam. His catalogue is packed with collaborations that show real range: he's worked with Fatboy Slim on a samba flavoured track, teamed up repeatedly with fellow Dutch producer Wiwek across a string of Spinnin' Records releases, and even pulled in Brazilian legend Sergio Mendes for the 2017 track Magalenha. His remix work tells a similar story. From reworking Rihanna's Diamonds and Pitbull's Back In Time to putting his spin on tracks by Major Lazer and Flo Rida, Salto keeps one foot in the mainstream while staying rooted in latin and tribal grooves. More recently he has been collaborating with South African group BCUC, pushing his sound in a more Afrocentric direction with releases like Child of the Rainbow and Bangene on his own Salto Sounds label.
