About
Guy Salamon is a Dutch jazz musician with a taste for genre collisions, pulling in everything from punk to polka alongside the jazz at the core of his work. He leads the Guy Salamon Jazz Trio, a group completed by trumpeter Alistair Payne and bassist Ton Felices. Payne, known for a storytelling approach to the instrument and a knack for unconventional ideas, won an Edison Award in 2024, while Felices honed his craft at a jazz academy and performs with the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. The trio is involved with Oorkaan, a Dutch music theatre company that stages classical and contemporary music in theatrical, often wordless productions. Their show Baas takes audiences on a journey through a musical landscape where sound does the work of describing the world the characters move through, a sensory experience aimed at families.
