About

Also known as: Jackline Acheampong, Jackline Nana Yaa Acheampong, Song Bird

Gyakie, born Jackline Acheampong and also known as Song Bird, is one of Ghana's most compelling voices in afrobeats and R&B. Her breakthrough came with "Forever", a track from her 2020 debut EP Seed that somehow managed to top charts in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria simultaneously, even reaching Billboard's Top Triller Global and Shazam's Top 200. A remix with Nigerian singer Omah Lay in early 2021 pushed it even further, cementing her reputation across the continent. She has since signed with Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records UK, and Sony Music Africa, and released her second EP My Diary in 2022, featuring Davido. Her sound pulls from soul, highlife, afropop, and afro soul, weaving them into something distinctly her own. Aside from her solo work, she has collaborated with artists like Bisa Kdei, R2Bees, and Fiokee, and was featured in the Grammys' backstage interview series in 2022, a sign of just how far her reach has grown.
