About

Hans Christoph Rademann has spent decades shaping some of Germany's finest choral ensembles, most notably the Dresdner Kammerchor, which he has led since its founding in 1985. Rooted in early music, baroque repertoire and the great choral tradition, he brings a conductor's precision and a singer's ear to everything from Schütz and Buxtehude to Bruckner and Krenek. His tenure with the RIAS Kammerchor drew particular praise, with critics singling out his ability to draw out tone quality, blend and expressive nuance in ways few conductors match. In 2013 he took over from Helmuth Rilling as director of the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, cementing his place at the heart of German Bach performance practice. His recordings are wide ranging and consistently strong, covering sacred court music from Dresden, Max Reger vocal works, Mendelssohn lieder and Monteverdi, and he also founded the Musikfest Erzgebirge in 2010 to spotlight early music from the Ore Mountains region.
