About
Also known as: Harmonie Amicitia, Koninklijke Harmonie Amicitia, Koninklijke Katholieke Harmonie Amicitia
Harmonie Amicitia, based in Eeklo, Belgium, is a wind orchestra with a history stretching back 125 years. Their repertoire covers a wide range, from festive concert works by composers like Reed, Sparke, Gillingham, and Grainger to large scale collaborations with choral ensembles. One notable project brings them together with the Utrechtse Oratorium Vereniging for a full performance of Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man, a piece for peace, with soloists soprano Charlotte Houberg and Zaïd Tayem. When they share a programme with a choir and soloists, the result is a rich mix of orchestral colour and choral weight that suits the ensemble's ambitious approach to concert programming.
