Headie One built his reputation in the trenches of UK drill, coming up through the Broadwater Farm estate in Tottenham and releasing a string of mixtapes before breaking into the mainstream. His 2019 project Music x Road showed a broader range than anyone expected, with NME noting it was 'often far from drill', and it landed at number five on the UK Albums Chart. Then came his debut album Edna in 2020, a deeply personal record dedicated to his late mother, which went straight to number one. His run of chart hits with some of the biggest names in rap speaks for itself. '18hunna' with Dave peaked at number six, 'Only You Freestyle' with Drake reached number five, and 'Ain't It Different' alongside Stormzy and AJ Tracey climbed to number two. His collab with producer Fred Again on the joint project GANG also turned heads. In 2023 he picked up the Brits Billion Award after crossing one billion career streams in the UK.
