About
Heavy Lungs are a post punk four piece from Bristol whose singer Danny Nedelko became famous enough to have a song named after him before the band even put out a full album. Fellow Bristol act IDLES released "Danny Nedelko" as the lead single from their 2018 record Joy as an Act of Resistance, giving Nedelko a kind of cult status that the band has since more than lived up to. Rounding out the lineup are guitarist Oliver Southgate, drummer George Garratt, and bassist James Minchall, who co founded the group with Nedelko back in 2017. After building their sound across three EPs, Abstract Thoughts, Straight to CD, and Measure, Heavy Lungs finally dropped their debut full length All Gas No Brakes in 2023. The title alone tells you something about their energy. A second album, Caviar, followed in 2025, showing the band has no intention of slowing down.
