Het Amsterdams Gemengd Koor
Het Amsterdams Gemengd Koor has one upcoming show in the Netherlands: on February 21, 2027 at Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.
About
Het Amsterdams Gemengd Koor has been going for close to a hundred years, and it is still an amateur choir at heart, with around 130 singers. It turns up regularly at the Concertgebouw, where it takes on the big oratorio repertoire, Bach's Matthäus Passion among it, alongside an orchestra and soloists. The programme is not all well worn classics, though. The choir also makes room for lesser known contemporary composers, and has sung pieces by Eric Whitacre, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Karl Jenkins, music that leans lyrical and melodic. Conductor Paul Valk leads the group, aiming to pair a real love of singing with serious musical standards, across centuries of repertoire.
