Hexagon
Hexagon has one upcoming show in the Netherlands: on December 6, 2026 at Theater De Storm, Winterswijk.
About
Hexagon is a chamber music ensemble built around a wind quintet plus piano, the same line up Francis Poulenc wrote his Sextuor for, which the group counts as one of its signature pieces. The members are Frank on piano, Arjan on clarinet, Marieke, Ron on horn, Bram on oboe and Wout, and they have played together for 36 years. Over that time they have worked closely with living composers and premiered a good number of new pieces. They also play arrangements made for them, such as Kees Olthuis's version of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. Their repertoire runs from Mozart's clarinet quintet and Rimsky Korsakov's quintet to Prokofiev's tiny piano piece Conte de la vieille grand'mère, and each member has a personal favourite among the works they've played.
