Hidria Spacefolk from Lohja, Finland call their sound "Astro Beat", which gives you a fair hint at what they're going for: sprawling psychedelic jams built from an unusually wide instrumental palette that includes cello, sitar, didgeridoo, marimba, vibraphone and flute alongside the usual rock gear. Their music draws comparisons to Kingston Wall and Ozric Tentacles, two acts known for taking rock somewhere far more cosmic and exploratory. The band's 2004 album Balansia featured Andy McCoy of Hanoi Rocks as a guest, and that same year their songs got the remix treatment from Finnish electronic producers on Violently Hippy rmxs. They've played internationally too, including the North East Art Rock Festival in Pennsylvania, later released as the live record Live Eleven am. After the full studio album Astronautica in 2012, the band resurfaced in 2024 with two new singles, Göbekli Tepe and Rama Rama.
