About
Hilary Roberts scored a number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart with her take on Soul II Soul's 1989 classic "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)". Not bad for a cover she was initially nervous about, since Caron Wheeler's original vocals were so powerful. A dinner with label owner Jason Dauman and her producer Damon Sharpe got her singing the song, and the team talked her into recording it. The remixes came from the likes of Andrew Wilson, the Perry Twins and Wideboys. The Dallas based singer and songwriter had already cracked the Dance Club Songs top ten with her 2018 single "There for You". She releases through her own label, Red Songbird, and works closely with producers and songwriters Damon Sharpe and Eric Sanicola. Her 2019 single "Fight to the Other Side" was written in honor of a friend living with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Away from music, she also founded the Red Songbird Foundation, which supports survivors of abuse.
