About
Horse Jumper of Love have been quietly building one of the more compelling catalogs in the slowcore and shoegaze space since forming in Boston in 2013. The trio, made up of vocalist and guitarist Dimitri Giannopoulos, bassist John Margaris, and drummer Jamie Vadala Doran, put out their self titled debut in 2016, with the single "Ugly Brunette" catching enough attention to land on NPR Music's Songs We Missed series. Their 2019 album So Divine, released through Run for Cover Records, pushed them further into the spotlight, and they spent part of that summer opening for slowcore legends Duster on their east coast reunion tour. Since then, the band has kept a steady pace. Natural Part leaned into the slowcore textures that define their sound, while 2023's Heartbreak Rules brought more shoegaze influence into the mix, closing out with a cover of "Luna" by the Smashing Pumpkins. Their fifth album Disaster Trick followed in 2024, continuing to show a band that keeps finding new angles on a sound they clearly love.
