About

Also known as: Howard James, John Howard Jones, ハワード・ジョーンズ

One of the defining voices of mid 80s synthpop, Howard Jones racked up ten UK top 40 singles between 1983 and 1986, six of them cracking the top ten. His debut album Human's Lib hit number one in the UK in 1984 and eventually went double platinum, powered by tracks like "New Song", "What Is Love?" and "Pearl in the Shell". Dream into Action followed in 1985 and proved even bigger globally, reaching number two in the UK and number ten in the US, where it stayed on the chart for nearly a year. Jones was a key figure in the Second British Invasion of the US, and his profile got a significant boost when he performed at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985. His biggest American hit came with "No One Is to Blame", a reworked version featuring Genesis drummer and producer Phil Collins, which climbed to number four on the US chart. Across his career he has sold over eight million albums, and he has kept releasing new music well into the 2010s, including the studio albums Engage and Transform.
