Brian Leeds operates under several aliases, but it's the Huerco S. project that put him on the map as a key figure in outsider house, a lo fi, experimental offshoot of deep house. His 2013 debut Colonial Patterns and the 2016 follow up For Those of You Who Have Never (And Also Those Who Have) laid out his signature murky, distorted aesthetic, earning coverage from The Fader and FACT Magazine among others. More recently his output has shifted toward ambient territory, and his 2022 album Plonk as Huerco S. reflects that drift. Under the alias Pendant, his 2018 record Make Me Know You Sweet pulled in a glowing review from Tiny Mix Tapes, and a second Pendant album followed in 2021. He also records as Loidis and Royal Crown of Sweden, keeping his catalogue sprawling and consistently hard to pin down.
