About
If These Trees Could Talk have been building their brand of expansive, wordless post rock out of Akron, Ohio since the mid 2000s. Their sound sits at the intersection of post rock and math rock, all sweeping guitar textures and rhythmic precision with not a single lyric in sight. Their third album, The Bones of a Dying World, came out on Metal Blade Records in 2016, a notably heavy landing for an instrumental act, and the label went on to re issue the band's entire back catalogue in 2021 and 2022. After nearly eight years of silence, they returned in February 2024 with the single "Trail of Whispering Giants", proof that the appetite for their brand of slow burning, cinematic guitar music is very much still there.
