About
Illie is a Moroccan Dutch rapper from Heerlen with roots in Casablanca. He spent a few years living in Morocco before settling in the Netherlands, where his music career really took shape. His breakthrough came with Gekke Gunz, which went viral and racked up millions of streams. He followed it with GLOCK, a collaboration with Jinho 9 that pulled in millions more and made it into the charts. He has also teamed up with Ronnie Flex on Flemming, and he picked up a nomination for the FunX Next Best Award. What sets him apart is a raw voice and a sound that feels like his own, shaped by his Moroccan heritage and a strong bond with his hometown of Heerlen. In a short time he has carved out a distinct spot in Dutch hip hop.
