Iris Jenster Group draws its sound from the deep well of classic jazz, shaped by the vocal work of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Anita O'Day. The group grew out of the HKU conservatory scene and brings together musicians with a shared love for traditional jazz, performing classic repertoire alongside fresh arrangements and original compositions that stay rooted in the swing era's spirit. At the centre of it all is vocalist Iris Jenster, known for her expressive phrasing, rhythmic flexibility and versatile voice. She came up in a household steeped in jazz and has been an active presence on the scene, regularly collaborating with fellow musicians. The Iris Jenster Group keeps that tradition alive while finding its own angle on it.
