Isabelle van Keulen won the Eurovision Young Musicians contest in 1984, a televised competition that put the Dutch violinist on the map across Europe. Since then she has built a reputation as one of the most versatile string players around, equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician, and violist. She has a particular passion for less celebrated modern composers, from Alfred Schnittke and Sofia Gubaidulina to Witold Lutosławski and Allan Pettersson, bringing their work to audiences who might never have sought it out otherwise. She founded the Isos Quartet in 1995 and ran the Delft International Music Festival from 1996 to 2006. Her long standing collaborations with pianist Ronald Brautigam and mezzo soprano Christianne Stotijn have produced a sizeable discography across many releases since 1992. She also plays a 1734 Guarneri del Gesù violin, the so called ex Novello, and since 2017 has served as artistic director of the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss in Germany.
