IsaSofia

About

IsaSofia fronts a band that takes its cues from Brazilian music, with bossa nova and samba at the heart of it. They don't just copy the classics, though. The group has built a sound of its own on top of those genres, and IsaSofia sings in both Portuguese and English, which gives the songs a foot in two worlds. The live setup is a four piece rhythm section and harmony crew called The Coalition of the Willing: Pepijn van den Boogaard on drums, John Klaver on guitar, Egmond De Bruijne on keys and Ray Edgar Duijns on bass. Together they like to wander through the wider musical culture of Brazil rather than stick to one groove, so a set can feel like a small tour of the country's styles.
