About
Zutphen's Izegrim have been grinding out thrash metal with death metal edges since 1996, and the lineup that really defined their sound clicked into place around 2008 when bassist Marloes Voskuil stepped up to handle lead vocals. That shift brought a sharper focus to the band, and they started working their way onto bigger stages across Europe, including a tour alongside British thrashers Onslaught. The 2009 EP Point of No Return landed them a deal with French label Listenable Records, which put out three albums: Code of Consequences, Congress of the Insane, and The Ferryman's End. Over five studio albums the band has built a reputation for fast, aggressive riffing with melodic solos woven in, a combination that guitarist Bart van Ginkel brought to the table when he joined in 2005. Founding guitarist Jeroen Wechgelaer remains the sole original member keeping the band's roots intact.
