J Majik has been one of drum and bass's most consistent figures since the early 1990s, first surfacing on the Planet Earth label under the name DJ Dextrous before switching to his now familiar moniker when name clashes forced the change. He quickly found a home at Suburban Base and Metalheadz, two of the genre's most important labels, and later founded his own imprint, Infrared, which he still runs today. His remix work for Hatiras on "Spaced Invader" became a landmark release credited with helping shape the liquid drum and bass sound, and his collaboration with Kathy Brown on "Love Is Not a Game" broke into the UK Top 40. A long running partnership with producer Wickaman produced the album "Crazy World" and a string of UK chart appearances. He also releases material under the names Innervisions and Infrared.
