About

Also known as: James Andrew House

James House built a reputation as one of Nashville's more reliable songwriting hands before his own recording career really clicked. He co wrote Dwight Yoakam's "Ain't That Lonely Yet" and Diamond Rio's "In a Week or Two", both of which hit number 2 on the country charts, and later co wrote Martina McBride's chart topping "A Broken Wing" in 1997. As a solo artist on Epic Records, he scored his biggest moment with the top 10 single "This Is Me Missing You" from the 1994 album Days Gone By, which also featured Raul Malo, Trisha Yearwood and Nikki Nelson. Before all that, House was cutting rock records on Atlantic in 1983 and coaching Dustin Hoffman's vocals for the film Ishtar. He showed up on The Beach Boys' Stars and Stripes Vol. 1 and contributed songs to albums by Steve Holy and Steve Azar. In 2012 he formed the duo Troubadour Kings with John Brannen, and a decade later MelodicRock Classics dug up those early Atlantic recordings for a proper release.
