About
Jan van Duikeren's Fingerprint is a Dutch all star collective built around trumpeter Jan van Duikeren, drawing on nu jazz, funk, soul and gospel. Rather than assembling a backing band, Van Duikeren brought together five like minded musicians who each carry serious international credentials, with the aim of creating something genuinely collective. The lineup includes tenor saxophonist Tom Beek, drummer and producer Salle de Jonge, keyboardist Timothy Banchet, and bassist Hugo den Oudsten. Van Duikeren himself has spent years as one of the most sought after trumpeters in the Netherlands, working alongside names such as Candy Dulfer, Lonnie Smith, Joe Jackson, Diana Ross and Paul Weller. He is a multiple Edison Award winner, and Quincy Jones has spoken highly of his musicianship. Fingerprint has recorded three studio albums and completed a tour of China, steadily building a sound that belongs to all five members equally.
