About
Jane McDonald shot to fame after appearing on the BBC documentary series The Cruise in 1998, and the momentum was immediate. Her self titled debut album went straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart, where it stayed for three weeks, and a Christmas medley single followed it into the top 10. Since then she has racked up five UK top 10 albums, the most recent being Living the Dream, released in 2026. Beyond recording, McDonald has carved out a serious second career in television. She was a long running presenter on Loose Women and has become the go to host for travel content, with Cruising with Jane McDonald picking up the 2018 BAFTA Award for Best Feature, the first time a Channel 5 show had won in that category. Shows like Jane McDonald: Lost in Japan and Jane McDonald: From Pole to Pole have kept her a familiar face on screen, while she also took over hosting duties for the British Soap Awards in 2023.
