Jasad (ID)

About

Jasad have been one of Indonesia's most dedicated brutal death metal outfits since forming in Bandung back in 1990, with bassist Yuli the sole survivor from the original lineup. The band's name literally translates to "dead bodies" in Indonesian, which tells you everything you need to know about their aesthetic. Their debut full length Witness of Perfect Torture arrived in 2001 through Rottrevore Records, and they followed it up with Annihilate the Enemy in 2005. By 2013 they'd pushed into new territory with Rebirth of Jatisunda, weaving together Indonesian, Sundanese and English lyrics instead of sticking to the English only approach of their earlier records. They've also taken their brutal sound to international stages, including appearances at Wacken Open Air and Bloodstock. A 2025 music video for Getih Jang Getih V.2 signals the band is still very much active.
