Javier Perianes has built a reputation as one of Spain's most compelling classical pianists, winning top prizes at major international competitions before going on to perform at venues like Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. He's worked with conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, and Lorin Maazel, which gives you a sense of the level he operates at. His recordings on Harmonia Mundi are where a lot of people first encounter him. His Schubert Impromptus drew serious praise, with critics noting how naturally he inhabits that repertoire.
