About
The Jazzinvaders are a tight knit collective built around founders Phil Martin on drums and Rolf Delfos on saxophone. Over the years they have released several albums and marked their twentieth anniversary with the compilation 'Time Travel', which also signalled a return to live performance. Their sound sits at the crossroads of accessible jazz and dancefloor energy, blending punchy horn sections, deep grooves and beats that make it hard to stand still. The band has collaborated with some serious names along the way, including Hammond organ legend Dr. Lonnie Smith, Brazilian samba funk figures Alex Malheiros and Ivan Cont of Azymuth, and vocalist Lilian Vieira from Zuco 103. The current line up also features vocalist Linda Bloemhard, Ton van der Kolk on bass, Cees Trappenburg on trumpet, Peter Broekhuizen on baritone saxophone and Rein Godefroy on keys.
