About
Also known as: Jeckyl & Hyde, Jeckyll & Hide, Jeckyll and Hyde
Jeckyll & Hyde is the stage name of Dutch producer Maarten Vorwerk, and he made a serious splash when his single 'Freefall' hit number one on the Dutch Top 40, becoming the first instrumental track to top the charts in the Netherlands since 1995. That alone tells you something about what he was doing differently. His debut hit 'Frozen Flame' had already climbed to number eleven, and the follow up 'Time Flies' picked up heavy rotation on Dutch TV and radio. All three singles came from The Album, released in 2007. That same year Jeckyll & Hyde landed two TMF Award nominations, taking home the TMF Party Award. The name, by the way, is a nod to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novella, which fits the duality you hear in hard hitting electronic music that still manages to cross over to mainstream radio.
