Jeneba Kanneh Mason is a British pianist whose playing draws praise for its freshness, originality, and unusually deep interpretive insight. Her repertoire spans a wide stretch of classical music, from Scarlatti and Mozart through to Chopin and the American composer Florence Price. One of her signature programmes centres on Chopin's four Ballades performed as a complete cycle, a demanding feat that Chopin himself reportedly never attempted because the pieces affected him too profoundly to play them all in one sitting.
