About
Jensine Benitez is a San Diego soul singer whose work alongside Thee Sacred Souls put her on the map with a double sided single on Penrose Recordings. The A side, "Ilusión de Amor", is a Spanish language ballad about a lover lost past any hope of return, carried by what the label describes as honeyed melodies over airy, floating rhythms. The flip, "The Sparkle in Your Eyes", shifts into a mid tempo groove built for the dance floor. She also recorded "Let Me Feel Your Charm" as part of the Spotify Singles series with Thee Sacred Souls, and an El Michels Affair remix of her track "Los Chicos Tristes" has also circulated. Live, her voice and stage presence are known to get a strong reaction from audiences.
