About
Jessica Mauboy made history when her soundtrack to the TV drama The Secret Daughter hit number one, making her the first Indigenous artist to top the ARIA Albums Chart. That came after a run that started with a runner up finish on Australian Idol in 2006 and a quick signing to Sony Music Australia. Her debut album Been Waiting went double platinum and gave her a first number one single in "Burn". She has moved easily between R&B, pop and dance, and has worked with Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Pitbull and Jason Derulo. Acting is a second string: she won an AACTA Award for her role in The Sapphires, and later coached on The Voice Australia. She also represented Australia at Eurovision in 2018. Lately she has put out videos for "Glow", "Automatic" and "Give You Love" with Derulo, and she was inducted into the National Indigenous Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2025.
