One half of Hot Chip and a founding member of the Greco Roman label, Joe Goddard has spent two decades quietly shaping electronic music in the UK. His 2024 solo album Harmonics pulls in a wide circle of collaborators including Hayden Thorpe, Ibibio Sound Machine, Alabaster DePlume, and Hot Chip bandmates Alexis Taylor and Al Doyle, showing the kind of broad musical network he has built over the years. Beyond Hot Chip, he runs the duo the 2 Bears and co founded HARD FEELINGS with Amy Douglas in 2021, a project that blends dance music with the synth and new wave sounds of the early 1980s. The Greco Roman label he co founded in 2007 has also been a launchpad for artists like Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Disclosure, making Goddard as significant behind the scenes as he is in front of them.
