About
Joe & The Shitboys are a queer vegan punk band from the Faroe Islands who built their reputation tearing into the conservatism and homophobia they found in the local rock scene. The four piece, made up of Joe, Ziggy Shit, Johnny Shit and Ollie Shit, plays short, sharp bursts of punk with most songs clocking in under a minute. Titles like "Drugs R'4 Kidz", "Life Is Great You Suck" and "If You Believe in Eating Meat, Start With Your Dog" give you a pretty clear sense of where they stand. Live, the flamboyant frontman spends as much time roasting the crowd as playing, and the band has taken that energy everywhere from rooftop DIY shows and public toilets to mountain tunnels and skateparks. They have also shared stages with Iggy Pop and The Hives, and their compilation "Greatest Shits" pulled in enthusiastic coverage from BBC Radio 6 Music, NME, DIY and Brooklyn Vegan.
