Johannes Moser is a German Canadian cellist with a serious list of credits: he has played with the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and many others. Chamber music is close to his heart too, and he has shared the stage with the likes of Joshua Bell, Midori, and Emanuel Ax at major festivals from Verbier to Seattle. He picked up ECHO Klassik awards for Instrumentalist of the Year in both 2008 and 2017, and took second prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2002. Since signing with PENTATONE in 2015 he has built a solid discography, ranging from Dvořák and Elgar to Lutosławski and Dutilleux. His recordings with pianist Andrei Korobeinikov have been a recurring partnership, covering Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, and Martinů. Away from the concert hall, Moser runs a YouTube channel where he shares practice sessions and cello masterclasses, making his expertise a little more accessible to players everywhere.
