About Joji

Joji built his name through two very different careers. Before the moody lo fi ballads, he ran one of YouTube's most chaotic comedy channels as Filthy Frank and Pink Guy, racking up over a billion views and even accidentally kickstarting the Harlem Shake meme. In late 2017 he walked away from all of it, citing health issues including throat damage and neurological problems, and signed with 88Rising to reinvent himself entirely. Under the Joji name he has released four studio albums, with Ballads 1 and Nectar both reaching number three on the Billboard 200. His sound sits somewhere between R&B, lo fi and trip hop, built around hushed vocals and sparse production. The 2022 single Glimpse of Us became his biggest hit, peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and hitting number one on the ARIA Charts, with his third album Smithereens following shortly after.
