Jonathan Jackson is probably best known to soap fans as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital, but his musical life runs just as deep. He took up guitar as a kid and taught himself piano, eventually forming a band with family members that evolved over the years. That musical side got a proper showcase when he joined the cast of the ABC drama Nashville, where he played singer songwriter Avery Barkley from 2012 to 2018 and performed all the vocals and guitar work himself rather than leaving it to a double. It is a rare thing for an actor to hold his own musically in a show built around country music, but Jackson pulled it off across six seasons.
