Josh Pyke has a knack for crafting indie folk songs that feel both intimate and expansive, and his debut album Memories and Dust announced that pretty loudly when it hit number 4 on the ARIA Charts in 2007 and walked away with three ARIA Awards. The Sydney singer songwriter built his name through a run of sharp, melodic records, each landing in the ARIA top ten, from Chimney's Afire debuting at number 3, to Only Sparrows and The Beginning and the End of Everything continuing that streak. He has also shown a real appetite for ambitious projects beyond the studio, collaborating with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra for specially curated shows, co writing with Passenger during a UK tour, and joining a revolving cast of Australian rock veterans for sold out Beatles White Album concerts. He is also a children's book author, which somehow fits perfectly.
