Joshua Hyslop is a Canadian folk singer songwriter from Saskatoon who has been putting out quietly affecting records on Nettwerk since his debut EP Cold Wind in 2011. His first full length, Where the Mountain Meets the Valley, landed in 2012 and drew strong critical attention, with the single "What Have I Done?" arriving a few months ahead of the record. He spent a solid stretch of 2012 to 2014 on the road and writing, eventually finishing his second album partly in Nashville before completing it back in Canada. That record, In Deepest Blue, came out in 2015, followed by Echos in 2018 and then Ash and Stone in 2020, the latter preceded by the EP Embers. Four albums in, Hyslop has built a steady, unhurried body of work that rewards close listening.
