Few harmonica players have left a mark on Chicago blues the way Junior Wells did. His 1965 Delmark Records album Hoodoo Man Blues, recorded with Buddy Guy on guitar, is widely regarded as one of the definitive blues albums of the decade. Wells had a knack for bridging worlds: he cut his teeth playing with Muddy Waters in the early 1950s, built a long creative partnership with Buddy Guy, and eventually toured with the Rolling Stones, bringing the South Side sound to rock audiences across the world. His signature tune 'Messin' with the Kid' stayed in his set for his entire career, and his 1960 single 'Little by Little' cracked the Billboard R&B chart. He kept recording right up to the end, with his 1996 release Come On in This House featuring slide guitar from Derek Trucks and Alvin Youngblood Hart.
