About
K.O, born Ntokozo Mdluli, is one of South Africa's most consistently sharp rappers, cutting his teeth as part of Teargas, the hip hop group that put out four albums between 2006 and 2012. When he stepped out solo, he hit the ground running: his debut album Skhanda Republic landed at number one in South Africa and went platinum, picking up Best Rap Album at the South African Music Awards along the way. The single 'Caracara' racked up over a million YouTube views and won Record of the Year. His fourth studio album SR3, released in 2022, went platinum and spawned 'SETE', a collaboration with Young Stunna and Blxckie that sat at number one on the Radio Monitor Charts for 19 consecutive weeks. Across his career he has collected six South African Music Awards, three South African Hip Hop Awards and an MTV Award, which says a lot about his staying power in a scene he helped define.
