Kabza De Small, born Kabelo Petrus Motha, is the DJ and producer who helped turn amapiano from a South African township sound into a globally recognised genre. His 2018 single "Umshove" put him on the map internationally, and he followed it up by co founding the Scorpion Kings alongside DJ Maphorisa, a partnership that produced some of amapiano's biggest moments. His album I Am the King of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust debuted at number one in South Africa, and Spotify named him the most streamed South African artist of 2020. He runs his own label PianoHub and has consistently pushed the genre into new spaces, from a sold out Red Bull Symphonic show with a full orchestra in Johannesburg to a production credit on Drake's It's All a Blur Tour. "Kabza Chant" hit number one on SA Spotify Daily Charts in 2024, and his 2025 album Bab' Motha became his first record to chart on Spotify's Top Global Albums.
